What would you do if you had an hour to kill? You could sit down in front of your TV and watch an episode of Grand Designs. You could take your dog out for a walk, assuming of course that you have a dog. Or you could get an amusing, exciting computer game and play that game.

You could give the KraiSoft Entertainment-developed Astrobatics game a shot. Wonder why I asked you if you have an hour to kill? I could have asked you if you have two hours, or any other amount of time to spare. I specifically asked if you have an hour to kill because that’s how long you can play Astrobatics free of charge. Once that 1 hour-trial is over, you will have to register to keep playing.

Speaking of playing, what is this game all about? In the Astrobatics game you are in control of a “super-high-speed space fighter” as KraiSoft described it. As you advanced along, enemies will show up. It is up to you to shoot them down. There will be a lot of enemies – their behavior and their weaponry will differ.

During your journey you will be able to pick up several weapon upgrades and special weapons. You will be able to pick up Rocket Turret upgrade for example and you will be able to pick up the Homing Missiles special weapon. Keep a sharp eye out for these upgrades and special weapons as they will come in handy. They will help you more easily dispose of your enemies. And they will help you more easily shoot down the boss. Yes, there is a boss at the end of the level.

The Astrobatics game is pleasing from a visual and an audio point of view. The graphics look good, and the accompanying soundtrack is rather catchy. The game should prove to be an adequate distraction for an hour. Chances are that during that hour you will be hooked and you will want to play some more.
